Rescue my abuelita, mom & Tia

Donation protected
This story is  about  my family separation, survival and determination to reunite with my mom, abuelita and tia in a safe place and save them from the horrors of the Communist Regime in Venezuela.
A dream I’ve had since I was separated from my parents in the late 80’s when they were deported back to Venezuela...
Most of you don’t know our family suffered “Family Separation” when I was 18 and was left alone with my 12 year old brother and  11 month old sister. My parents were deported therefore are not allowed back in the US. It has been 25 years now we have been separated from our mother.
Now I can no longer visit my mom, tía, and grandma and only see them every  3-4 years.
This September was the month of celebration for #myfamilyunited.
The plan: since only my grandma has a visa to enter the US... we flew her into Miami to split up the long travel.

Meanwhile my mom Marina and tía-madrina Teresa were to fly from Venezuela-Panama-Mexico City-Tijuana with their doggy Luna( La Niña ) (20 hour trip) something my abuelita can’t do.

Final Destination: Baja California to reunited with us and be in a place where they are free to go to the supermarket twice a day if they want to. A place where they won’t go without food or medication and a place where they can actually feel safe and be close to us in Cali for frequent family  visits.
But... however  Big or Small  the dream and plans might  be  BAD THINGS In LIFE ALWAYS HAPPEN!
My abuelita was rushed to the hospital while in Miami and now has to stay there longer than planned. An expense we didn’t see coming.  I flew out to Miami to take care of her 24/7 .

After spending 2.5 weeks nursing my 97 year old grandma back to health  from a pulmonary embolism due to clots. I realized if she had been in Venezuela during this time she would have not be getting  the medical care and nutrition she needs. Her recovery from ICU to yesterday has been miraculous.  Luckily she was here in the states to get the immediate care she needed during the 911 rush to the hospital. So, No hay mal que por bien no venga.
As now you know the goal  of her visit from Venezuela is to bring her to California with us and then unite her with my mom and tia Teresa in Tijuana so they can be close to us and in a decent place to live for a while.

Now we are faced with no health insurance for my grandma,  She has been put on Eliquis, the best blood thinner and most expensive. Everything has been out of pocket thus far and she can’t travel yet. The medical expenses are too much  without insurance and she doesn’t qualify for Medicaid nor has she been here long enough to qualify for the County hospital card. I ask you to please help me with keeping my grandma healthy. She wants to celebrate her 100th birthday and we are only 2.5 years away from that! I know together can do everything to help her dream come true and mine to have my most influential women reunited in TJ close to me and my kids.  I just need a little help from a lot of people... to pay for the $195 dollar visits... for the pulmonary specialist and cardiologist specialist as well as the neurologist specialist. Monthly blood lab  tests,  the 35 hour a week caregiver that we need to stay with her while my Tia Gloria goes to work ($17 hour) plus medications. I had to fly back home yesterday to work myself and make $ and it broke my heart to have to leave her in Miami.  She said “I’m sad to see you go , but I’m so thankful you were here”
Aquí la espero!
I am humbled to have the gift of a beautiful strong woman I call abuelita Mercedes!! ❤️Thank You in advance for your love and support in this family matter.
