As a 501(c)3 non-profit, The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation is a rescue and rehabilitation organization that promotes marine conservation. Our mission is to preserve and protect the marine environment through conservation efforts including education and research. We are the primary responders for live sick or injured seals, sea turtles, dolphins and porpoise, and maintain the only marine mammal and sea turtle rehabilitation center in New York State. As the primary organization in New York State authorized to work with these animals by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), we are dedicated to the conservation of these marine mammals and sea turtles.
Our washing machine broke and we are in dire need of a replacement! We use the machine to clean the towels and restraining gear that we use throughout the rehabilitation of sick and/or injured animals in-house. We found a replacement washer for $400 and we could really use everyone's support to help us purchase the machine. Any amount that you can spare will make a big difference.
