This is Ashley Rollins, and I'm fundraising for my dad, Don. In October, his Nissan exploded outside his house a couple of hours after he'd parked it, destroying the car, his HVAC system and ducts, some siding, a garage window, a bit of electric wiring, and part of the roof.

He's been working with a lawyer to attempt to get Nissan to fully cover damages, but between their lawyers delaying things and some delays with his own legal representatation, things are moving very slowly. Car rental expenses are becoming an unmanageable financial burden, and his relatively new self-employed status makes it extremely difficult to get a car loan.

While he's also been struggling with the lack of an HVAC system in this weather, this fundraiser is just to cover a replacement car, since it seems like it may not be possible to wait long enough for Nissan to make things right on that front.
