Terrence's Stolen Drums...REPLACED!

Terrence is a lifelong musician. Studying percussion has been a chosen pursuit of his since the age of sixteen. His drumset, a treasured collection of carefully acquired and painstakingly earned tools for this beloved craft, was stolen last month as an individual broke the glass of his rear passenger door and took everything of value Terrence had stored in his vehicle in the early morning.
Despite immediately filing an investigative report with a Brighton Police Department detective, the investigation has gone cold, and the equipment has become untraceable. Terrence has been humbled by the support of friends, both near and afar, offering to help lend him their personal drum kits, or to give a little money toward replacing the equipment.
Terrence recalls being a sixteen year old kid working in a local drum shop to slowly earn his own set of custom drums as payment:
“As I began to take private lessons, I needed a means to pay for my own kit, so I spent my free time working at a local drum shop (by free time, I really mean every waking minute). Eventually around the age of 19 I began to teach at this very same drum shop. Over those three years, I slowly earned what would become my professional tools for the next decade.”
A musician’s equipment is precious. It not only includes the essentials, but often rare acquisitions of the finest quality, instruments or parts that are essentially irreplaceable because of their monetary value, rarity, and story behind their individual use. Not only have these materials been taken, but they can never truly be replaced.
I am looking to you all, the support net that has helped Terrence grow into the educator, performer, artist, and lifelong musician he is today. I humbly ask, if you are able, to both spread the news of this campaign (via social media, face to face, and word of mouth) and to contribute monetarily if you can. Every contribution, be it a penny or a single dollar, will go far in helping this working musician get back on his feet again.
We have recently leased out a new storage unit near our apartment with 24hr surveillance and security for Terrence’s new equipment. In his own words:
“Many people have encouraged me to make it possible for them to be able to more tangibly support me beyond their comforting words; truly meaningful words that have restored my spirits over the last couple of weeks. Therefore I am setting up a GoFundMe; not to replace what was stolen, but to get me back on my feet again, working and playing a drum set I can call ours.”
Below is a list of what was taken. In addition to the drum equipment itself, Terrence will also be replacing his soft cases & hardware bag. Our deepest thanks go out to all of you for your continued support during this difficult experience.
