Replace stolen medical helmet for infant son

Donation protected
On behalf of Brittney Beaumont, I have started a gofundme to help replace her son's special protective helmet.

First and foremost, please share her post, or the Peterborough Scanner Feed post all over social media. It is best for everyone, if the person who took it returns it, as having a new one made takes precious time and is obviously very expensive. However, in the event it is not returned please consider donating. Thank you!

A couple of days ago, an SUV was broken into on Edison Avenue - just beside Lansdowne Place in Peterborough.

A helmet was stolen, a special protective helmet for an 8 month old boy was stolen, along with some Toys R Us bags. This helmet is designed to protect the boys head from a physical disability in his skull and neck

The boy wears a helmet 23 hours a day because he has was born with missinb and underdeveloped muscles in his neck. Muscles which are meant to support his head being held up right.

This helmet is a very special helmet THAT IS SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR THE BOYS HEAD. This helmet is supposed to give him as much of a chance as he can get and in only a very short period of time. He can only wear it until his fontanel closes, and he doesn’t have a whole lot of excessive time before that happens. THIS HELMET IS A DIRE NECESSITY FOR HER SON.

The mother is a single mom of three children, 3 years and younger.

This helmet cost $2500 and she doesn’t know how she’ll be able to replace it in the time that he needs it.

He’s now been with out it for several days. Days that are already potentially starting to undo the slight improvements his helmet was finally starting to make after months and months of wearing it.

THE MOTHER IS PLEADING THAT THE PERSON WHO STOLE IT RETURN IT, OR PLEASE MESSAGE ME ON THE SCANNER FEED THE LOCATION OF IT SO WE CAN GET IT BACK.

It is no good for anyone else but him. It is extremely expensive, but has absolutely 0 resale value.

You can turn it into/mail it to the police station (so you don’t have to show up), or you can turn it into/mail it to Kawartha Prosthetics in Peterborough, or you can even throw it on my front lawn. Or my neighbours lawn. Just anywhere that my son will be able to get it back.
