Replace Keo's Equipment

Donation protected

I met Saykham Keophalychanh (Keo) in 2009 when we were both in the same class at the US Army National Guard Sniper School.  One of the most personable people you'd ever meet, it's hard to not become friends.

Keo, with is partner, went on to win the 2016 Winston P. Wilson Sniper Competition and the 2016 International Sniper Competition.  He is also slated to compete at the 2017 International Sniper Competition.

On July 6th, 2017, his vehicle was broken into and emptied of all it's valuable contents.  Among other things, this included expensive competition and training equipment, privately owned military use equipment and uniforms, and awards & prizes from his competitions.  The estimated loss amounts to about $25,000.  That includes equipment and electronics essential to his duty as a Sniper, Soldier, and Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer.

Keo's insurance will absolutely not cover the whole loss, that has been established; whether anything at all will be covered is yet to be resolved.  Law enforcement has been unable to locate any suspects or recover any of the stolen items.

I've set the bar relatively low, at $5000 on this, because really, anything is going to help here.  But also keep in mind, this is expensive equipment; an observation optic alone can cost $2500; a sturdy tripod could be as much as $1200, and some range finders cost over $5000 alone.  And obviously, no amount of money can replace the sentimental awards and prizes won in tough competition.  But helping out on the material side of the loss will surely ease the emotional sting, AND help him continue his preperation for the 2017 International Sniper Competition.

If we surpass $5000, please, continue to donate!  I'm just viewing this as, we've made a solid impact if we can hit $5000; if we hit $10,000, awesome, an even bigger impact!
