<div>Wij zijn het Atlantikwallmuseum Den Haag. Helaas is kort na oplevering onze gereconstrueerde glazen koepel van een Duits verdedigingswerk in Kijkduin door vandalen ernstig beschadigd. Het herstellen van de schade maar ook het treffen van anti-vandalisme maatregelen kost helaas veel geld. De verzekering dekt geen schade bij molest. Daarnaast willen we gelijk een aantal dringende restauratiewerkzaamheden in Kijkduin uitvoeren zodat dit stuk militair erfgoed nog jaren bezocht kan worden. We ramen de totale kosten op €10.000,-

<div>Nu er steeds minder mensen zijn die zich de verschrikkingen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog herinneren, worden de bunkers in Den Haag belangrijker als historisch monument. Bunkers vormen een tastbare schakel tussen de oorlog uit het verleden en de vrede en vrijheid van nu. Meer dan ooit is het belangrijk om stil te staan bij wat het betekent in vrijheid te leven. Het museum is een plek waar geleerd, ontdekt en overdacht kan worden. Een breed publiek kan hier, of zij nu aangetrokken worden door de duinen en hun flora en fauna, de historie van de locatie of de bouwstijl, stil staan bij de geschiedenis van ons land en de situatie in onze wereld.
