Repair Nursery Roof for Wildlife Babies

It has been an extremely busy year so far at Florida Wild Mammal Association (FWMA)!
Almost a thousand wildlife patients have arrived for treatment and tremendous progress has been made with site development on our new piece of property. It has been a huge challenge to provide for all the needs of our patients while also preparing the new property for our eventual move. Every spare penny has gone into the road development, culverts, and retention pond for the new facility. We are now putting together a conceptional design for the animal care building that will need to be built as a commercial building. We had not anticipated the building plan and building itself to be considered commercial and it will take more time and lots of capital moving forward. Unfortunately, this means our move is further away than we thought.
As these plans are underway we will continue to run the facility at its present location and need to keep it in good running order. The buildings and enclosures at FWMA have served us well but are very old and in desperate need of repairs in order to provide clean and safe housing for our wildlife patients and for the staff to work in until we can build at the new location.
Anyone that has adopted or purchased a "fixer-upper" knows how sometimes trying to start a simple repair turns into a huge project! These repairs are turning out to be quite costly and we sure could use your help. We have been working hard over the last several weeks to get some of these projects and repairs completed. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who have been helping us along the way but we also need skilled labor for many of the tasks and lots of supplies. Lumber and other supplies are not cheap! Please see the projects list below and an estimated cost of their completion.
Project List:
Safe Take Down and Removal of Dead 60ft Pine- $350 (A huge thank you to the volunteers that have been cutting pieces and helping us haul them to their new homes OUT of the driveway.)
Replacing Frozen Hinges, Broken Latches, Broken Shelves, and Perches in Enclosures- $400 (FSU's Environmental Service Program did a wonderful job on their work day with us and was able to help a ton with replacement perches. Our handy dandy carpenter has been working on getting new shelving in to some of our older cages to make them usable for our babies again as well as fixing the latches so we don't have any accidental early releases!)
Medical Room and Nursery Paneling and Trim- $3,200 (This project has been going on alllllll summer as we attempted to do sections in between waves of animals. The end of the project is in sight, but so is the credit card bill for supplies and labor.)
Replacing Rotten Door on Medical Room- $400 (I guess the Medical Room was not meant to flood every time we had a storm? Who knew!)
Repairing Front Medical Room Wall-$300 (We tried to take the door off and realized that uh.....well.....the whole exterior wall was rotting away. Great!)
Shelving for Storage Trailers-$350 (We have a volunteer that has offered to help after work on building simple shelves for our medical supplies and extra cages, but have not acquired the supplies yet.)
Medical Room Countertop, Backsplash, and Cabinet Replacement/Repair- $500 (We have a 12 foot countertop with double sink that needs to be replaced with something VERY durable.)
Deer Stable and Fencing Replacement- $1000 (Our front pen had a weakened section from Hurricane Michael that was repaired and shored up so we could continue using it. The continual rain and storms we had earlier this summer definitely have taken a toll so our oldest deer is being very well behaved while we gather supplies to replace that section.)
Painting Exterior of Medical Room- $200 for supplies (FSU Pre-Vet Club has signed up for several work days this semester and we are hoping to have a painting party to make the Med Room look nice after all the hard work is done inside.)
Replacing Front Gate- We had a gate donated, and are hoping to have a volunteer help us install it.
