Repair Puppy's Broken Legs

Donation protected
I am volunteering to help our wonderful veterinarian, Dr Carol Weyland-Sabourin, who has a sad case to report:

>I am a house call veterinarian in Vermont.  I came upon a case last week that could use crowd-sourced financial help.

An elderly gentleman in E Barre acquired a young dog from a nearby breeder, who initially wanted $900 for it, but one day dropped it off at his house for free!  The dog has no use of its front legs and walks upright like a kangaroo.  When he called me out to examine the dog, I discovered the poor pup's front legs had both been broken some time ago.  The breeder is claiming ignorance in the matter.

My client, Jay, is retired and in a wheelchair.  I took care of his last Pomeranian who lived to be about 17-18yr old.  Jay is already attached to this little puppy and will give him a very loving home. The puppy is otherwise healthy and my client wants to have his legs repaired but can't afford the surgery.

I have contacted an orthopedic surgeon in S Burlington for an estimate of the surgery; it will cost about $3000, including neutering.

I want to get the ball rolling since the sooner the fractures are repaired, the sooner this dog can heal and have a normal life.  It appears the breaks are already at least 3 weeks old, judging from the calluses on the bone.  Jay is willing to pay for part of it, but he can't afford thousands of dollars.  If you are interested in helping, please donate what you can and accept our gratitude.

We will send everyone who provides an email address some pictures of the puppy as he heals.<
