<div>We have set up this GoFundMe page to ask for donations to help us be sustainable and to continue offering this service as we receive no external funding. This is also a collective space where people can make donations who have had items repaired but didn't have any cash with them on the day and wanted to make a donation.

<div>Repair Cafe Tang is becoming a really exciting and vibrant initiative that's already reducing waste and helping people to save money by repairing their broken or damaged items instead of discarding them in landfill and bringing the community together in a positive way.

<div>We've already tackled toasters, kettles, numerous textiles repairs, such as zips in school coats, mends to rucksacks and have supported our local Food Circle York market with mends to their pasteuriser and weighing scales! We have gathered a welcoming community of fixers and customers of all income levels, ages and ethnic backgrounds which we're really keen to foster.

<div>At the Repair Cafe we want to show that a broken item doesn't have to mean the end, with a bit of know-how we can all do our bit for the planet. We want to grow and develop in 2026 and we have a fantastic and skilled group of volunteer fixers with hopefully others joining us this year.
