Help CFAS Repair and Rebuild after Hurricane Ida
On September 1st the Township of Cranford experienced historic levels of flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, which dumped over 10 inches of rain on our community. As our crew was responding to calls throughout the township, the flood waters began to rise and inundated our building with close to 6 inches of water. The flood waters soon receded and our crews were able to survey some of the damage, but were quickly evacuated again as the river rose causing an additional two feet of water damaging our building. Thankfully our neighbors at the Cranford Fire Department welcomed us and allowed us to use their building as our base of operations for the storm and in the days following. The outpouring of community support in the face of this disaster has shown us that together we are #CranfordStrong.
The Cranford First Aid Squad has been proudly serving the township of Cranford and Union County since 1953, providing high quality 911 transports all for no cost. As a 501 c 3 organization, independent of the Township of Cranford, we rely on donations and fundraising in order to fuel our operating budget. Although we have planned for contingencies to ensure continuity of service both financially and operationally, we are reaching out to our community to help us as we work to rebuild our home. We know many people in our community are also facing the harsh realities as they rebuild their own homes, but we are humbly asking for donations both monetary, supplies, and time.
