Reopen the Art Shoppe at Midtown Global Market

The Art Shoppe at the Midtown Global Market has been supporting artists and bringing local handmade art to the Twin Cities community since 2011. The Art Shoppe’s mission is to provide a viable business place for local Minnesota artists to display and sell their work, gain business and marketing skills, and mentor and empower each other to increase artists’ exposure and income. We promote opportunities for a diverse community of artists.
We are a collective of about 70 Minnesota artists that provide an array of artwork, including jewelry, visual art, and ceramic and fabric art. The shop offers items directly from the artist to the customer, and artists operate and manage the shop. As a collective using all volunteer staff, we are able to provide a unique platform for local artists to display and sell their work and increase their exposure and income.
Covid-19 and later the destruction that took place on Lake Street has had a tremendous impact on our organization. As of this June, the shop has been closed for three months. During that time, we have continued to incur debt. Your donation will allow us to reopen the shop by helping us pay rent and business expenses, allow us to host special events and continue to mentor new artists.
