#RentRelief for Immigrants During #COVID19

Hi comunidad,
My name is Sara Mora and I’m an immigrant rights organizer. Since the onset of the Covid-19 crisis in the United States, I’ve been asked by many how they can assist our undocumented communities. Though Covid-19 disproportionately affects our community, it has been the most overlooked when it comes to aid and social services. It’s a luxury to remain at home during these times, a luxury our agricultural workers, domestic workers, and members of the informal economy cannot afford.
As a community that’s more than 11 million strong nationally, this crisis has shown us where we are weakest. As a domestic worker, my mom lost her job but she will not be receiving the aid that others will be, despite her having paid for it; And while many continue to work, price gouging, discrimination, and wage theft ravage our community.
There is no way that one action can heal more than 400 years of colonization and oppression. One of the few ways that individuals can help directly now is by contributing funds to relief efforts like rent relief, mutual aid, and other fundraising campaigns that assist undocumented BIPOC. This is a #rentrelief project that will go towards aiding members of the undocumented community during this difficult time, by undocumented people and for undocumented people. No saviorism.

Me llamo Sara Mora. Soy un organizador y desde el comienzo de la crisis de COVID-19 me he estado preguntando cómo se vería más afectada mi comunidad.
