Rental house collapsed

During construction yesterday, the neighbours dumptruck hit our house we rent and caved in the wall. Insurance companies are blaming each other and the inspector deemed the house "uninhabitable". We are not allowed inside even though our dog and 2 cats are in there. Called the city , can't help. Called animal control, can't help. Landlord says "too bad". We are now homeless with a month away from Christmas. Not sure if we'll even get our rent back. As you can see in the picture, all personal items and winter clothing under the pile of rubble. They won't let us in due to the house may collapse. We have lost everything. Just need a helping hand to get first and last month's rent for a new place, and a few dollars to get us on our feet again.
