Hello, everyone. I come to you today asking for help to pay our apartment's rent, as my husband and I have run out of other options to turn to. Unfortunately, if we are unable to pay this upcoming month's rent in full plus late fees from the past month, we will be facing homelessness with our three cats.

Normally, we are able to scrape by on what we have, very occasionally having anywhere between $25 to $100 spare for "just in case" scenarios. Due to a severe medical emergency, my husband and I both have had to be out of work for the past two weeks. My husband had suffered through a severe GERD episode, making him unable to eat for 7 days, sleep, or even simply rest. We spent a little over a week in and out of the hospital, then different doctor's appointments; two CT scans, an endoscopy, multiple rounds of potassium, and medication cocktails. He was in consistent pain resistant to OTC medications, needing assistance to sit up, hold utensils/cups, and making it to and from the bathroom. All of which was only aided after switching hospitals once we had wasted a week of our time elsewhere (the doctors refused to diagnose him, as having a severe GERD episode would have been "too upsetting" to diagnose). He spent a few days sleeping and slowly reintroducing solid foods before going back to work.

The week he returned to work, we experienced the sudden loss of our senior cat and were forced to take on the expenses of his passing and remains. Mater had been with me since I had started middle school and has been a huge comfort in my life. Without him, I am deeply struggling to push forward.

We do not have anywhere else to turn to. I have no one I could personally ask, and my husband's parents have already been as generous as they can be. They have their own responsibilities and are unable to continue helping us, and we still have much to pay them back as it stands. We have tried many times to apply for loans, but no loan will work with our online banking and we cannot afford to connect with another bank at this moment.

In the meantime, we will be attempting to sell some of our belongings in hopes of affording our rent and other bills. We greatly appreciate any help that we can get.
