Renovate the Historic Linebrook Parish

Donation protected
The Linebrook Parish Church, built in 1848 and located on outer Linebrook Road, is the oldest church in Ipswich. This building is also historically significant because it is one of a very few continuously operating parishes in the Commonwealth. The boundaries of the parish were determined by five brooks, thus the name "Linebrook" Parish. To be a voting member of the parish, you had to be living within the five brooks and be Protestant.

The church was disbanded in the early 1960s because of a lack of parishioners and has since been leased out to various religious groups. We also have a daycare renting part of the building. The church has been cared for by a small group of devoted volunteers-all long term members of the parish. But we need HELP!

Over a period of time, rain water leaked from the steeple, and the interior ceiling needed to be replaced. We received a settlement from the insurance company, but it went just so far. As they began the work other problems were discovered, and soon the insurance money was gone.

At this point, we have replaced the ceiling and molding. It has been painted and it looks like new. We now need funds to repair and paint the walls, trim and pews. There is also more work to be done on the steeple and new carpet to be installed.

We are looking for financial donations to help us save this historic building and return it to it's original glory.

We greatly appreciate any help that you can give us.

Thank you in advance......The Linebrook Parish Committee
