Rene's College Dream

Rene Santillana is a young man who has a dream of attaining his college degree in the USA. His family came to Leoti, KS legally (5 years ago) on a work visa. His family is hard-working, involved in the community, and very involved in the education of Rene & his younger sister.
They came to Kansas because they wanted a safer, better life. Rene studies hard and is a top student! His commitment to all he does is commendable.  
Rene wants to attend KState in the fall of 2018 but recently learned that, due to the type of Visa he has, he is not eligible for any type of student loans, or grants.  He also is limited on the scholarships for which he is eligible.  Paying for college is hard for people who have all of those options available to them, but is looking impossible for Rene.

This young man has spent countless hours talking to people about his options.  He is getting very discouraged.  Due to the type of Visa that he is under, it is not even legal for him to have a job.  He is a hard worker & I have no doubt he would be putting in as many hours as possible working to save for his education - if that were an option. It is a crazy system and very discouraging for someone who wants so badly to better himself and create a better future for his family.  

Please help this young man reach his goal of becoming an Engineer through studies at KSU.
