Rene´s Bone Marrow Transplant

Hi, my name is Rene Soto. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma for a second time 5 days before my wedding day. I was 24 years old the first time I was told I had cancer. I went through chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which helped me getting back to a normal life at that moment. I got married with the love of my life on August 2021, knowing that we were headed towards a very difficult situation. This time, the swollen glands were spread within the abdomen, unlike the first time which was a single swollen gland in my right armpit. Because of that, the chemotherapy (DAPH) that I am receiving now is much stronger than the first one. Foreign oncologists have suggested that my next step after chemotherapy should be a bone marrow transplant, which is a very expensive procedure and cannot be done in my country (Honduras). This is why we ask for your help, so that we can visit another country and have the possibility to pay for this bone marrow transplant and other medical expenses we have ahead. Hola, mi nombre es Rene Soto. Me diagnosticaron Linfoma de Hodgkin por segunda vez 5 días antes del día de mi boda. Tenía 24 años la primera vez que me dijeron que tenía cáncer. Pasé por quimioterapia y radioterapia, lo que me ayudó a volver a la vida normal en ese momento. Me casé con el amor de mi vida en agosto de 2021, sabiendo que nos encaminábamos hacia una situación muy difícil. Esta vez, las glándulas inflamadas se diseminaron dentro del abdomen, a diferencia de la primera vez, que fue una sola glándula inflamada en mi axila derecha. Por eso, la quimioterapia (DAPH) que estoy recibiendo ahora es mucho más fuerte que la primera. Oncólogos extranjeros han sugerido que mi próximo paso después de quimioterapia debería ser un trasplante de médula ósea, que es un procedimiento muy caro y no se puede realizar en mi país (Honduras). Por eso te pedimos tu ayuda, para que podamos visitar otro país y tener la posibilidad de pagar este trasplante de médula ósea y otros gastos médicos que tenemos por delante.
