Renegade Hut build

Hello friends.
lots of people like to complain that their favourite backcountry huts are blown out, and they can no longer find the solitude that they crave in the mountains.

To remedy this problem I have decided to build a new hut, that will of course be open to all. Before word slowly spreads however, a select few will have priority access to this new zone, where almost every line will be a first descent (at least I suspect this to be the case).

Construction is well underway,  and we are hoping to have the whole thing wrapped up and winter ready before the end of October.

There is still lots of work to be done, and we will gladly accept volunteer hours and material donations to help with the roofing, stove installation, and construction of the outhouse.

But if I may be so bold, nothing really says thank you like cold hard cash. As of writing this (3rd Oct 2018) I have personally fronted all of the funds necessary for the materials, and I have invested some 200 hours of cognitive effort and hard labour.

So I come to you with cap in hand, and humbly ask that you consider making a donation, to what I sincerely hope will be a community project that we can all enjoy for many seasons to come.

Just to be clear, I don't want to make it seem like I am attempting to sell access to the hut or that I will withhold location beta if you choose not to donate.   As the old saying goes, 'the goal is not to take centre stage, the goal is to set the stage so that others can bask in the limelight'. Or something like that. That's kinda paraphrased. But I believe in sharing my knowledge and efforts with the community. If you don't want to donate but you still want to know where the hut is, I will still tell you, I would just prefer not to shoulder all of the financial burden myself!

One further note on that point.... although eventually I would like the location of the hut to be common knowledge, I'm not in a rush for it to get to that state, and for the first several seasons I would be more than happy for those who I know and respect (and those who have donated!) to have first dibs on all those big lines out there....

The more each person donates, the fewer people I will have to approach to ask for donations... therefore... more first descents per donor ;-)

So that's my pitch. I hope you respect my approach and that you are feeling generous :-) October will be a big month for construction, and I hope you are eager to be involved.

Ps...
A few more boring details that are quite important but that I couldn't fit into the flow of the main pitch:
-the hut is in the 'pemberton' zone of the sea to sky
-there is road access in the summer, winter access will be by truck and skin or by sled, at various times of the year depending on snow coverage low down.
-the hut will sleep 4 comfortably, with contingency sleeping for 6.
-there will be a stove and an outhouse.
-I have zero permission for this project from any land managers or First Nations groups, however I have reason to believe that useage conflicts will be low (more details on request)
-there will be west facing tree skiing and alpine skiing on all aspects.
-I haven't actually skied in this zone before... but actually I don't think anyone has... that's what makes it so exciting!
