UPDATE: How do I get my t-shirt if I've donated $50 or more?

Great question! Due to the high volume of shirts we need to distribute, we are asking all donors within driving distance to pick up their t-shirts at our office: 1213 Mercantile Rd. Santa Fe, NM 87507. Please pick up your t-shirt during the following times:

Thursday, August 8th 5-7pm
Friday, August 9th 5-7pm
Saturday, August 10th 10am-12pm
Monday, August 12th 6-8pm

We kindly ask you not to pick-up your shirt during office hours. It would be pretty distracting to have nearly 200 people walking in/out of the door! If you do not live within driving distance of our office, please email [email redacted] to make other arrangements. Thank you!

Deportation Defense aka Removal Defense 
Removal defense involves legally representing and advocating for immigrants facing deportation from the United States. For many immigrants facing removal from the United States, the process involves appearing before an immigration judge in immigration court. Legal representation is the single most important factor in determining whether someone will win or lose their asylum case.  Sadly, most immigrants cannot afford to have an attorney represent them in court. For this reason, Santa Fe Dreamers Project provides pro bono removal defense representation to detained and non-detained asylum seekers. Over the last 5 years, we have provided no-cost legal services to thousands of immigrants and their families. Today we need your help in order to bring these service to those who need it most.

How Our Legal Services Protect Immigrant Families and Asylum Seekers

According to the American Immigration Council:

- Represented immigrants in detention who had a custody hearing were four times more likely to be released from detention

- Detained immigrants with counsel were nearly 11 times more likely to seek relief such as asylum than those without representation

- Immigrants who were never detained were five times more likely to seek relief if they had an attorney

- Detained immigrants with representation were twice as likely as unrepresented immigrants to obtain immigration relief

Currently, Santa Fe Dreamers Project only has two attorneys on staff dedicated to removal defense for the entire state of New Mexico.  Given the current crisis, this is simply not good enough.
