Remembrance 6K for Timothy for Féileacáin & SOFT

Donation protected
Our beautiful little boy Timothy Joseph came into our world sleeping on the 15th of July 2020 at 32 weeks. At 20 weeks we were given the devastating news that our little boy had a chromosomal disorder, Trisomy 13 also known as Patau's Syndrome which is a  life limiting condition.

We want to share our little boy's story as we are so proud of our son and his short little life. We hope to raise awareness about special trisomy babies and  show other parents that find themselves in a journey like ours that there not alone. We want his memory to live on forever.

While in Cork University Maternity hospital the amazing midwifery and bereavement team gave us strength  and guidance and encouraged us to make memories with our much loved little boy.  We will always be grateful for the assistance of Féileacáin who provided us with a  beautiful memory box  which contained 2 teddy bears (one to keep and one to go with Timothy), a scented  candle,  Timothy's foot and hand prints,  a lock of his hair and other precious items.

CUMH in conjunction  with Féileacáin provided us with  a cuddle cot (electrical cooling mat) and Moses basket  which allowed us to bring him home on the evening that he was born. The cuddle cot  allowed us to spend three precious nights with Timothy before his burial which allowed us to create special memories with our son.

We want to raise money for Féileacáin and S.O.F.T. Ireland who are charities that reaches out to parents experiencing enormous grief and suffering. We want to create awareness of the enormous impact that they have on parents with trisomy,  stillbirth and neonatal babies.

Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland – SANDAI) was formed in 2009  by a group of bereaved parents to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby around the time of birth. Féileacáin is a volunteer led organisation and receives no funding from central government, relying instead on the support of our community and the families who avail of our services.
