For Nathan Beal's Family

Donation protected
Nathan Beals was larger than life.

Even as he struggled, he radiated joy and accepted people as they were.  On January 24 he lost his battle with depression.  He leaves behind a wife, 8 kids, and countless other family and friends who were touched by his huge heart and his willingness to address hard issues (like mental illness).

I will never forget how he'd push the line in social situations.  (Like how he'd, loudly, bust out in song in the middle of a restaurant when my husband and I were on dates with him and Michelle).  He loved to laugh and to make other people feel comfortable (even if it meant making them feel uncomfortable first).  I won't forget his passion for leading worship, for seeing people find help and community, and how he made everyone feel like they belonged.

As we grieve the loss of his life we want to make sure his kids are cared for as they learn to live in this new reality.

Money raised here will go toward the practical needs of his family as they move forward without their dad. This will include costs of the funeral and closing his estate, boring (but necessary) things like groceries, rent and ultilities along with providing opportunities to have fun together as a family (like going to the movies).

Here are some otherways to support and encourage the family:

1) MEMORY BOX:
We are going to put together a memory box for the family to pull out when the kids are missing their Dad or when Michelle needs some encouragement. Want to contribute? Here are some ideas (but feel free to let your creativity soar... Nathan would love that).

- letters to Nathan, letters to the kids, letters to Michelle
- an artistic expression that reminds you of Nathan (record song, drawing, painting)
- a piece of memorabilia
- an item that will bring comfort
- a photo
- a story

Becca Currey will be collecting items at the visitation, funeral and for a few weeks afterwards.

If you are out of town, feel free to mail them to:
Rebecca Currey

2) TAKE THEM A MEAL
If meal ministry is your thing, they have a lot of mouths to feed, sign up here: Take Them A Meal

3) MEMORY BOOKS
Some of Nathan's highschool friends are also putting together a photo / memory book for each of the kids and Michelle with notes. If you want to contribute to that, fill out this form: Google Form

Ken and Carol Warners, Michelle's parents, will manage this fund for Michelle and the kids.
