Remembering Mindy

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MINDY LEE MIN FAN
Mindy was our mother, a loving wife, a caring sister, filial daughter, close confidante and friend to many. Last year, we discovered Mum had a brain aneurysm, which she sadly succumbed to last month.

For those who were fortunate enough to meet Mindy, her warmth and kindness knew no bounds. She was always the first to lend a hand, putting others before herself. Her positive outlook through all of life’s encounters revealed her courage and determination – reminding us that anything is possible. Memories of her will continue to inspire us and she will live on in our hearts forever.

ALWAYS HELPING
Mindy was a supporter of many charities and was an active volunteer in Adelaide. When she wasn’t working, her time was spent participating in volunteer work - some of which included regular visits to nursing homes, raising money for bush fire victims, collecting donations for disaster events and organising rubbish collection around Adelaide.  In memory of Mindy and to continue her charitable spirit, we have set up this fundraiser to donate money raised to various organisations on her behalf.

IN HONOUR OF MINDY

Donations will be put towards medical research and increasing awareness of brain aneurysms. http://brainfoundation.org.au/ We also wish to support the Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide and the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, towards their continued efforts to provide better quality care and treatment to all brain aneurysm patients. We are forever grateful to the Doctors and staff of these hospitals for looking after Mindy during her time there.

BUILDING AWARENESS
Brain aneurysms are caused by a weakness in the wall of a brain artery. If the blood breaks through the aneurysm’s wall it can result in a subarachnoid haemorrhage, a kind of stroke that is caused by bleeding at the base of the brain. Like many other silent killers, aneurysms can go undetected as symptoms may not present themselves. Many people live their whole lives without realising they have one until it is too late. Brain Aneurysm Support Australia notes that up to 5 percent of the population are currently living with an unruptured aneurysm with between 0.5 and 5 percent of these people likely to suffer bleeding from a ruptured aneurysm. By donating, we will be able to continue Mindy’s legacy of kindness and generosity.
Thank you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts. x
