Eviction of family

It is the holidays during this covid pandemic. The system has been failing to protect families of color.

My child hood friend and her beautiful family need relocation funds within two weeks. She has been let go from an injury after 16yrs of working at a company. And breadwinner lost work because of COVID like many others have.  Landlord wants them out and they have to move. Funds are exhausted and they, as a unit, have been trying to keep it together since there has been no work.  Banks do not shine well for loans when it comes to POC. They have contacted the department of human resources for their family and nothing is working and they are about to be homeless with 5 children.
 
$5,000  would be to move with the majority going to a deposit & first months rent.  I through another $1,000 for survival. This is a humble quiet family that did not want their business out there and was not that comfortable asking for help.
