Right now our friend urgently needs your help. For many years he's fought our battles online, and he's successfully banished some of the worst online Troll accounts. In real-life @rkn429 fights to stop these monsters too. He goes to their hate rallies and photographs their faces so their identities can become known, and they can face consequences for their actions infecting our societies with rampant hate and rabid bigotry. The groups @rkn429 stands up against are the ones whose rallies we've seen video clips of as they disintegrate into violent beatings of innocent people.
I think we all know how dangerous his job is, and despite the danger his work exposes him to, @rkn429 has selflessly protected us all these years, never once asking our online community for our help.
And now our enemies have tracked down @rkn429. Not only is his safety in jeopardy but this puts the safety of his family, his kids and his grandkids at great risk too.
@rkn429 urgently needs your help to relocate to protect himself and his family.
His cover has been blown. They know his name. They know his face. They know where he lives. Recently he was in a public space with a family member when a woman approached him and asked him if he is @rkn429. There is no doubt that he has to relocate somewhere safe. He can't go for a little while. He's gotta hide permanently.
That means starting all over again. Once he gets to a safe place, he will need to purchase everything from a bed to a bottle of shampoo. He needs to fully furnish a bedroom ($1000), equip a kitchen (another $1000) and a living room (another $1000). He'll also need toiletries ($100), household cleaning equipment and supplies ($150), hygiene products ($50) and probably at least $200 to outfit his kitchen with the usual staples like coffee, sugar, condiments, spices, butter, eggs, milk, etc. If this campaign exceeds its goal the money will be used for hooking up @rkn429's electricity, and to pay for internet, phone, food, getting identification changed, and all of the required prescribed medications which he was already struggling to afford.
I think we all know @rkn429 keeps it simple; he's not looking to live a life of extravagance. Some items will be bought second-hand. He's also already looked at options to get certain things for free. But in an age where bed bugs are an epidemic, @rkn429 knows he needs to be smart about what he accepts, too. A free couch advertised on kijiji isn't always the wisest choice. There's no point making an already distressing issue worse by adding sleepless nights and the expense of replacing new furniture because one used piece had bed bugs and they turned into an infestation. One of the first things he'll get is bed-bug-proof mattress and box spring covers for his bed.
