Defraying Jess’ Medical Expenses

Donation protected
As many of you may know, our beloved Jessica was suffering from severe heart palpitations from about March-July of this year. With no apparent cause, the palpitations always came quite sharply and sporadicly, presenting a significant danger to her overall health. Occasionally, Jess would even experience a loss of feeling in her arms, a tightness and general inability to breathe on her ribs and chest, and the terrifying, lingering feeling that she would either pass out or possibly have a heart attack. Without health insurance it was difficult to assess the situation to say the least, as we were unable to consult any medical professional about her symptoms and condition. And so, relying solely on prayer; a strict diet; absence of coffee and intense physical exercise; a consistent full nights rest, etc., we pressed on.

However, one weeknight in early June we found ourselves unable to press any further. After trying all we knew to do, the 426 girls rushed Jess to the Carolina Medical Centers (CMC) ER, unwilling to take any more chances or wait any longer. Due to an absence of insurance, Jess, being the wonderful person she is, was unwilling and quite steadfast about not going, but we lovingly persisted until she could no longer say “no.” Unfortunately, without medical insurance, Jess was left with a greater financial burden rather than any medical help, leaving the ER at 6am with the same health status and information we had begun our emergency visit with.

I could write here forever about Jess and the absolutely incredible person that she is; there are truly no amount or set words that  would fully encapsulate all that she is to each of us; to fully portray how she has loved, impacted, transformed, and furthered so many of our lives in ways we could never truly thank her for. She is a cornerstone, not only to our home church and community of Elevation Ballantyne, but to every community and area she has ever come in contact with; there is not one person that has met Jess and not been blessed by her love, example, faith and generosity.

In attaining $5,000 we will have accrued enough funds to defray ALL of her medical expenses. THIS is what being the body of Christ is about; Jess has tirelessly done so much for us without ever looking to receive in return; let’s do what we can to show that her love and work has not gone unnoticed; that just as her Heavenly Father has always been there, we as her family will always be to :)
