Who is "Nam-eay: Namjai"?
"Nam-eay:Namjai", a play on the word "Namjai" which means "kindness", is a group founded by professors of the School of Pharmacy, Chulalongkorn University. The purpose of the group is to help provide topical antifungal cream for treating Athelete's foot as well as general first-aid supplies for those affected by the flood.
Why Athlete's Foot Treatment?
Athlete's Foot (tinea pedis) is an infection of the feet caused by fungi. It is contagious and can be transmitted by direct contact or sharing of items. While often being overlooked, the risk of getting the infection increases when the feet are exposed to water for a long period of time. The disease, if left untreated, can lead to severe bacterial infections and skin diseases.
What is the cost of manufacturing this antifungal cream?
1 stick of antifungal cream costs around 10 Bath ($0.30) to manufacture. Due to the fact that the flooding is much more severe this year, the demand for the cream has greatly exceeded the manufacturing ability of the factory. As a result, many students and faculties of the School of Pharmacy, Chulalongkorn University have volunteered to help manufacture and distribute the medication. At present, 200,000 sticks of the antifungal cream have been distributed to those affected. The organization hoped to make and distribute 200,000 more.
Only antifungal cream?
No. The group will also use the fund to buy and distribute general first aid supplies as well as provide a guide on how to survive a flood.
Thank you for your donation! 100% of the money will be used to benefit those affected
