Relief from Cyclone Yasa

Donation protected
Before Christmas, the fourth largest cyclone ever to hit the South Pacific, Cyclone Yasa swept right across Fiji. Vanua Levu and the islands just offshore were hit worst and whilst there was very little loss of human life, there was a lot of lasting damage to the infrastructure of many villages. Perhaps the biggest problem now faced is the loss of root crops from flooding, these crops are not only a staple food for the local people but also many families only source of income.

I have personal connections with two communities in the effected area, Vusa Ratu and Bouma. Neither of these villages have received any help or aid from the government and given the lack of tourism this year anyway, are now really struggling. They need money as soon as possible for building materials, new crops, food and other essentials of daily life. The more we can raise, the easier their lives will be over the coming months.
