FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR OUR BROTHER MITCH TOWSE
Our beloved friend and brother Mitch was diagnosed with Lymphoma back in May 2020. Through the beginning stages of the Covid-19 lockdown, Mitch was going doctor to doctor amidst this global pandemic. Unfortunately, after months of visiting various doctors, Mitch was finally diagnosed. Luckily they still caught the disease in its early stages, but still informed it would be a hard and long road ahead. Throughout the past six months, Mitch has had Chemotherapy and some radiation twice a week. Too weak to transport himself, he has had help from some family and friends driving him to and from doctors, while often taking ubers, and lyfts to appointments as well as to and from small grocery stores nearby in his neighborhood.
Mitch needs our help. Through all his medical procedures and visits, the bills keep coming in. These medical bills are really starting to take a toll on all the savings, Mitch has worked so hard for these past 30+ years. While also having a son to look out for, our help needs to come with urgency. These procedures have made him too weak for the time being. His road back to strength will start in the new year, with a ton a physical therapy and follow up visits with numerous doctors every single week...the bills will follow.
Mitch has been working in the film and television industry for over 30 years. Using his skills as a set dresser and carpenter into many of the movies and shows we all love, working as a member of the Studio Mechanics Union of NY (IATSE LOCAL 52). Mitch is also a very talented drummer, playing shows in the tri-state area as well as small tours across the US. All of these things he loves has been put on hold in all his dealings with his diagnosis. With our help and encouragement, our brother Mitch will get back to doing the things he loves so dearly.
I've known Mitch for only 5 years now, and his good character and kindness towards everyone around him is something I truly respect. He is a down to earth human being, and always there to help anyone when the help is needed.
For our brother Mitch, the help is needed. Let's show that same character and kindness back.
