Hello, my name is Iqra Ahmad. I was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines — the community that has always been my home. Recently, a powerful earthquake struck our province, leaving many families homeless, frightened, and without basic necessities.
We, together with colleagues from Cebu Velez College, have come together to support our families, friends, and loved ones affected by the recent earthquake in the northern part of Cebu, Philippines.
This disaster has left many homes destroyed and families displaced. Communities are now facing urgent needs for food, clean water, shelter, and medical supplies. Children and the elderly are especially vulnerable at this time.
Our Local Efforts
On the ground in Cebu, volunteers and community leaders have already started collecting in-kind donations such as rice, water, canned goods, toiletries, and shelter materials. Drop-off points have been organized in Cebu City, and local coordination is being led by Regil Abella. Why We’re Fundraising
For those of us outside the Philippines who cannot donate items directly, this GoFundMe campaign allows us to send financial support that will be transferred to our local contacts in Cebu. The funds will be used to purchase:
• Emergency food packs and clean drinking water
• Shelter materials (tarps, blankets, repair needs)
• Hygiene kits and medical supplies

Funds collected here will be consolidated and forwarded to trusted volunteers in Cebu, including those coordinating the donation drives. We will provide updates with photos and receipts as much as possible to keep everyone informed.
