As a doula and community service driven leader, I have a passion for keeping families together through adversity. I have a close relative who has recently fallen a victim to sudden homelessness with her husband and children. Both parents are employed and have some future housing options, but for now they are displaced. They have been in a hotel the past few days and will be moving locations to stay in a small apartment with a family member. I have been in this situation before and my heart yearns to provide a sense of relief. My hope is to cover costs for a few weeks in an extended stay hotel where they rest and abide in peace and privacy as a family unit and possibly a few meals.
