Jack has a happy life and brings joy to those around him, but he cannot sit up on his own. He is a joy to have as a student! He suffers from severely debilitating cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus and occasional seizures. He is a bilateral quadriplegic with painful limb tightness and skeletal deformities. Jack continues to need to travel for corrective surgeries, orthotics, and other procedures. Jack has 12 doctors, plus therapists, that he travels to see: he currently sees 7 medical providers locally and 5 more specialists in Chicago and Saint Louis.
Besides the many doctors and clinics and medical procedures, Jack loves to eat out, go to the park and the mall, visit his grandparents, and go to the grocery store with dad. This has been difficult lately. Their 14-year-old van and lift have broken down ten times in the last year. His folding lift sometimes shorts out, trapping Jack inside, which is very stressful for Jack and his parents. They recently had to delay an important appointment in Chicago when the lift broke down. A newer, chopped-down wheelchair accessible minivan would have a hand-pulled ramp that would never break down again!
Please consider donating to this cause. Let's get them in a NEW vehicle before the Summer is out!
