Rejuvenate Debi Jordan's Songwriting Career

Background: Debi started her career in Michigan. Her achievements included being chosen by the Capital Area Blues Society to open for Tab Benoit; sharing the stage with Peter Madcat Ruth; regularly a musical guest favorite on JTV; and, played the Ark at its Hill street location when she was only 14.
Debi left Michigan in 2004 to embark on a solo tour across the US. While on that tour, she played at several venues in Florida's "Forgotten Coast", where her original songwriting, music and her personality struck a cord and her audience and admirers grew rapidly. For Debi, it was clear, that this was the place where her career was meant to land. She became "The Voice of Carrabelle" and was heard regularly on radio and other venues all along the Florida Gulf Coast.
While her professional career grew and expanded across the country, her compassion for the needs in the area grew as well. She has contributed thousands of hours to causes in the area including Big Bend Hospice, Franklin County Humane Society, Lost Dogs Florida, Tonya's Hope Cancer Foundation and fundraisers to help individuals with personal medical needs.
The Need: When a congenital spinal cord defect put the brakes on Debi Jordan's music career, it also put the brakes on opportunities for her fan's to keep hearing the music they love.
In the midst of her career, Debi now finds herself, suddenly, in too much pain to play any more and was given a choice by her neurosurgeon: Do nothing, and expect paralysis; or, have this surgery and take a chance that things may get better, stay the same or get worse. With the encouragement of friends and family, Debi opted for the only choice for a future and that was surgery.
Now as she slowly recovers with no idea of how much improvement she will ultimately have, she is ready to start songwriting again. Unfortunately, her disability does not allow her to use her guitar for the length of time needed to create songs. There is a solution. That solution is for Debi to go back to her original musical instrument, the piano, which she does have the stamina to play.
The Fundraising Campaign: Her fan base was thrilled to hear of this solution. So much so, that one of her muses from California, Michaelyn Harris has put forth a Matching Challenge Pledge. Michaelyn will give a dollar for dollar match, up to $500, for anything raised for this campaign. The goal is to raise $1500 for Debi to purchase a keyboard and rejuvenate that songwriting career, which will also help her heal her heart and improve her difficult financial situation due to the loss of income she derived from performing.
