Reinaldo's plight - hurricane Maria

One of my co-workers at Pharmalex, Renaldo Del Valle Torres recently had to travel back to his homeland, Puerto Rico, as his mother passed away.  While he was home, Hurricane Irma crashed through the island, destroying large parts of it.  His father had to be hospitalized at this time.  As he was finishing getting power and other services set up again for his family, Hurricane Maria crashed through, and about devastated the entire island.  There was absolutely no power (except in a few hospitals that have generators), there is no clean water, and the airport is not functional.

I am setting up this page from Fairfax Virginia, so that co-workers or friends can help him get his bearings and be able to do what is necessary to take care of his family, while his is also trying to get back to the US and get back to work.  He used up his PTO bank while home on this bereavement leave.   A few people have donated small amounts of PTO to him, but financial help must be needed.  He may not know yet how exactly to use it, as the relief efforts are not in full swing, but I'd like to have some funding available to him, from friends, to help him get back to work and help out the family, who have likely lost everything.  Funds will go directly into Reinaldo's checking account, and be used to get his family back on their feet, and help to get him back to the US so he can return to work.

Please donate what you can.  I've set a goal here, but if donations can go over that amount, it's only a good thing.  I would imagine these funds should be made available to him immediately, as his father is currently hospitalized, and relief efforts are just starting to get underway.
