Rehabilitation for Biggie

Donation protected
Biggie is our beautiful, playful, mischievous and energetic 6month old French Bulldog puppy. On Saturday evening, we left to attend a surprise 30th. Within an hour, we received a call from our housemate to advise Biggie was acting strangely with extreme difficulty breathing. We were so luckily to have my mum get Biggie to the vet while we made our way there. We arrived to face an indescribably distressful situation, it appeared our baby had suffered an electrical shock.

Biggie, for hours, was not responding to any stimuli, physically, he was shaking/twitching from shock, his tongue was swollen, his gums bleeding, his eyes bloody and bulging, his body limp and his heart racing. It is an absolute miracle that Biggie is still with us. He is currently in ICU at our vet being monitored with round the clock care. Biggie has suffered severe muscle damage, among many other things, however the vet believes he is making positive progress. Biggie is fighting hard and is very determined to be here with us. In the near future, we will be able to take him home to continue on his road to recovery. As I am sure anyone with an animal knows, vet bills in these situations are not cheap, we are currently sitting just over $2000 and rising.

Biggie currently has no strength and little control over his body, mostly his front legs, therefor, he cannot walk or get up. We have been advised that once he is out of ICU, he will require intense physiotherapy/rehabilitation/hydrotherapy in the hope to regain his strength and mobility. Biggie may also require a K9 Cart / Doggie wheelchair. Biggie means the world to us and we want to be able to do whatever it takes to help him recover, we want to be able to provide him with the care that he needs, not just care we can afford.  Biggie will remain in ICU for a few more days at this stage until he is in a stable state and is able to come home to us. We will be forever grateful for your generosity towards Biggie's rehabilitation costs, helping us ensure Biggie has the best care possible for this miracle and Biggie's second chance at life. I will add progress photos and any information in relation to his recovery. xx
