SFC Reginald Rhodes scholarship

Three years ago, my father began what we later found out to be the fight of his life when he was diagnosed with oropharyngeal (head/neck) cancer. During the last  months of this journey  he expressed the desire to create a scholarship fund for graduating seniors at Charter schools such as mine- Imagine International Academy of North Texas This scholarship will be designed to help off-set some of the high costs of college tuition for graduating seniors.  Imagine International Academy of North Texas has played an integral role in our education with my sister J'Haira an alumni from the 1st graduating class of 2016,  myself class of 2019, and my niece Emma, the future class of 2031.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 in hopes of awarding our first ever "SFC Reginald Rhodes" scholarship in June 2018.  My father had a true passion for the game of golf and when recently asked the question, where are you most at peace? He instantly  replied "on the golf course." That is how much he loved golf!  An unfulfilled dream of his was to travel to Scotland to play on the "Old course" at St. Andrews,  unfortunately he was called home before my mother could fulfill his dream when he lost his battle with cancer on October 25, 2017.  It is our intention to not only raise enough funds for a scholarship each year, but to honor my father's love for the sport of golf and  kickoff our 1st annual "SFC Reginald Rhodes" Memorial Golf tournament in support of this scholarship fund.
