Hi, I’m Sara and I’m writing on behalf of our dog Reggie!
Hes had a tough little life so far at only 3 years old. At 8 weeks he endured 2 broken elbows, no one thought they could help him, but thanks to the Celia Hammond animal trust in east London. He was given a second chance. He had multiple surgeries on both legs and spent months in a crate to recover. That’s when we rehomed him and rehabilitated him, he wasn’t allowed to walk at first and I took him out in a doggy backpack and buggy so he could get out and about. After months he became a very happy dog and finally could go beach visits and woodland walks and be normal dog.
In a cruel twist of fate, at the beginning of summer 2025 Reggie slipped a disc in his spine and was grade 5, the worst it could have been. He had an emergency mri which confirmed what had happened and had to have emergency surgery that day. He spent a week in the veterinary hospital and has since been recovering at home in once again a crate. He’s been back out in his buggy for a change of scenery but we are so sad he is back here again!
Most of his care has been covered by his insurance but unfortunately we’ve now exceeded the amount he’s insured for. So we are asking for any help possible to get him through the last stages of his recovery. This might sadly included a doggy wheelchair as he is not able to walk and is also incontinent. But we hope in time he will regain full function with the help of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Thank you if you’ve got this far!
Sara, Reggie and family.
