Flee from Venezuela

Donation protected
My name is Suzannah and I live in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m seeking help on behalf of my mother and her twin sister because of the current crisis in Venezuela. Due to the corrupt leadership in Venezuela, traveling to and from has always been difficult and dangerous and for that reason my mother and her twin sister have been separated for most of their adult lives. My mother lives here in the United States and my aunt still lives in Venezuela. However, recently the reality in Venezuela has become so dire and severe it is no longer safe for my aunt to stay due to the complete dictatorship, military presence and removal of the most basic human rights by the government. This gofundme is to raise money for my aunts refuge from Venezuela to Ecuador. Below is my mothers plea:

Hello,

Many of you may or may not be aware of the humanitarian crisis that is currently taking place in Venezuela. In short, Venezuelans are now living under a dictatorship. The government is attempting to take control of all private properties including businesses and homes. Venezuela is in a state of emergency due to government restrictions and shortages of food and medical supplies. Children are malnourished and abandoned. Currency is virtually worthless. And because of all of this, violent crime and corruption have sky rocketed.
To speak out against the current administration could result in imprisonment or death and to make their intentions clear, the government is taking steps to heavily regulate the national and international media as well as limit internet access. No right to free speech. No human rights. No freedom.

Here is where I need your help. I have a twin sister who is currently living in Caracas, Venezuela, attempting to flee the country to Ecuador alongside her two sons. Travel is dangerous and the options are limited. The government has already shut down many of the main airports in the country and has restricted travel to the point where it is almost impossible for citizens to leave. Those who do attempt to leave run the risk of being robbed, thrown in jail or killed by corrupt law enforcement and military personnel. I need to raise enough money for my sister's travel expenses, citizenship fees and a few months of living expenses when she meets me in Ecuador, as she will likely have nothing but a few possessions to her name. Ecuador has instated a two month window for refugees to enter the country without a passport until October. This is crucial seeing that Venezuela is currently not renewing or reinstating passports which are required to enter most countries. Time is of the utmost importance.

I am asking:

$2,000 for travel expenses to Ecuador.

$1,000 for citizenship/registration expenses.

$2,000 for at least three months of living expenses.

They say that the closest human bond is the bond between twins. I love my sister more than anything and fear for her well-being. Please help reunite us.

Thank you,
Gavi

My mother is set up as the beneficiary and will transfer the money to my aunt in Venezuela through Western Union as accounts based in Venezuela are not supported directly by the GoFundMe payment partners.
