We’re Forrist, a fiercely independent small online supermarket that prides ourselves on providing customers with the highest quality organic and plant-based pantry & living essentials, whilst upholding our strong belief in a waste conscious and zero plastic policy. We want to make waste-conscious food and living accessible to all.
Your donations will support community food banks nationwide which includes stock and campaign awareness.
The waste hierarchy sets out five steps for dealing with waste, ranked according to their environmental impact. It states that surplus food should be used to feed people first before it is sent to animal feed or energy.
Hi, I’m Simone and I founded Forrist back in 2017 as my way to be the change I wanted to see in the world; less plastic waste and a premium service that puts people and planet before profits. Over the past few months, more and more people have had to turn to food banks to feed their families. As a waste conscious business, it deeply saddens us to know that whilst we have zero food waste, many large companies don’t, yet countless people are still without food.
Being a small business, our resources are limited, but we believe we can make a difference together.
How we reduce food & packaging waste
- Allowing customers to buy by weight from as little as 50g for dried foods and 10g for herbs, spices and teas.
- Giving surplus food to food banks
- Selling out of date produce on Too Good To Go

Free Forrist Essentials
We offer free essential items, menstrual cups and shaving oil, to do our part to draw awareness to hygiene poverty and help provide support for those that it affects. We plan to expand these essentials to include products like natural and organic deodorant, soap and toothpaste/mouthwash. Learn more
How the funds will be used:
- We will be donating £50,000 worth of store vouchers to foodbanks nationwide to humanise food parcels by giving those who need our support the option to choose their preferred foods - this will also work towards waste reduction.
- To restock and expand our offering to give our customers more choice
- To share our purpose and inspire more homes to switch to more sustainable shopping habits
