Ballet Theatre UK is the new face of British ballet, providing classical productions to audiences through out the UK. As a company we receive no government funding or arts council support, but survive solely on income from ticket sales and our loyal following.
This year we are thrilled to announce the launch of our "˜Red Shoe Appeal'. An appeal to help provide pointe shoes for our female dancers in the company. From a distance, all shoes look alike, but up close each shoe is uniquely designed, tailor made for each dancer. During a tour each dancer can work their way through at least 40 pairs of shoes, depending on which roles they are performing, sometimes alternating between several pairs of shoes within a single performance.
Making a donation to the Red Shoe Appeal is the easiest and most effective way in which you can support Ballet Theatre UK by helping us to provide the most vital tools of the dancers' profession. The average pair of pointe shoes cost £35 however donations on any scale are greatly appreciated and you can make your personal gift to the company with the assurance that, that for Ballet Theatre UK, this is only the beginning:
