Red COVID Study Cologne-Maastricht

English version below.

More and more menstruating people report changes in their menstrual cycle following a Covid-19-vaccination and or infection. The medical research, however, is sparse at the moment. There are many theories, but very few intend regarding research projects, which investigate those concerns and reports.

We don't think that's reasonable. Medical research finally needs to start taking the health of people who aren't normative-males seriously as well. Therefore we want to conduct a prospective study under the direction of Professor Karljin Massar from the University of Maastricht concerning menstrual anomalies in connection to Covid-19-vaccinations and infections. Probands will track their menstrual cycle for six months through an app. Participation will be possible worldwide and in various languages.

If an infection occurs or a person decides to get vaccinated, the menstrual cycle gets tracked for another three months and examined for any changes that might develop.

An immense advantage of this design is that even people who have already been vaccinated or infected can participate.

To keep valid research results, we can not reveal the precise hypothesis we want to explore.

But what we can announce is that our goal is to determine if and how Covid-19-infections and or vaccinations affect the menstrual cycle. And if/how people who use hormonal or inter-uterine contraceptives or gender-adaptive drugs are affected differently.

To get to the point:The department for gynecology and obstetrics of the Vivantes Clinic in Berlin agreed on 08/16/21 to take over the essential financing of our app. However, since our study will involve further expenses such as urgently needed remuneration for the test subjects for complete data sets, we are still looking forward to small and large donations. Our project is non-profit and all researchers in our team work on a voluntary basis alongside a full-time job or degree on the study.

It goes without saying that the app needs to be up and running as soon as possible to still be able to collect valid data.

Which is why there is unfortunately no possibility of applying for funding that provides the money in the required time.

Another problem is that the general willingness to invest in research in gender medicine is still relativly low.

Therefore we turn to you: Donate 2 €, 50 cents or whatever you can/ want and support the urgently needed gender medical research!
