In the summer of 2015, we started a hot lunch program at a Maasai village school in Tanzania. To do so, we fundraised to purchase two large cooking pots that would be used to cook the food in.

As we drove to get to the school, we met many starving kids on the road who were begging for anything to eat. Each time this happened, we gave them a part of our future lunch.

When we arrived at the school carrying the large cooking pots, all of the kids in the school sprinted to us with an ecstatic look on their face. We could see all of their rib cages. They were so grateful that we were there, for we learned that for many of them this would be their only meal of the day.

We also brought pencils to hand out to each of the students. As we went through the classrooms, we noticed that most of the school's structure was missing, and about half the students had desks. In fact, some classes had to be taught outside because the school was too small for all of the kids to fit inside. In addition to this, all of the students had to share pens with each other.

We realized after our encounter with these grateful kids that we wanted to continue to improve their lives. That is why we started a non-profit organization called "Recycle for Africa."

In this organization, we collect bottles and cans and exchange them for money at the recycling center. After a period of time, we wire the money to the bank closest to the school. The school then uses the money to purchase whatever they need in order to improve the school's environment, such as buying more school supplies, continuing the hot lunch program, and maintaining and improving the school buildings.

By donating, you are helping many starving and underprivileged children in Tanzania, as well as improving our deteriorating environment.

Each dollar matters, so help us in this cause!
