Recovery Haven Skydive
Donation protected
In 2013, an amazingly courageous mother of two, Brenda Macbeth, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Recovery Haven, an organisation specifically aiding cancer patients and their families in Southern Ireland, was a huge reason as to why she overcame this horrible disease.
To show her appreciation, Brenda planned on completing a sky dive to raise money for the Centre, so they may continue to provide a haven for patients of this disease and their families.
Late in 2015, Brenda discovered she was ill again, and this time it was terminal. For obvious reasons she now could not complete the skydive and the idea was put to bed.
Through her talent and willpower, and the generosity of local musicians and producers, Brenda ended up releasing a CD instead, “For the Good Times”, which generated a staggering €23,000 for Recovery Haven. The CD is still on sale and is the main reason, along with Brenda’s vision, why a second Centre was opened, this time in Brenda’s hometown Killorglin, the Central hub of Mid-Kerry.
2018 – The Skydive Project is alive again
Brenda’s daughter Melissa, has decided to complete the Skydive mission in Brenda’s memory. Along with her cousin Laura and friend Lucy they plan to complete the Skydive in September this year. They again are raising funds for Recovery Haven, the charity which has been such a help to our own family, and thousands of families affected by the disease in Southern Ireland.
Please contribute generously so that the Centre can continue to operate and serve our communities.
