With heavy hearts, we share with you that our beautiful son, brother, and nephew, Ukiah Carr was diagnosed with Pre B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) on September 7, 2018.
Our spirits are lightened by the prognosis that with aggressive treatment and support from all of us, there is a very good chance of clearing out his body of this blood cancer.
Ukiah's treatments will be administered by OHSU Doernbecher's hospital in Portland, Oregon for the next three years. This will require his parents, Aura and Logan, to drive back and forth between Bend and Portland extensively, take time off from work, and pay an unknown amount of medical expenses.
To start this campaign out our goal is $20,000. These funds will be used for out-of-pocket medical costs (which will be a minimum of $6000 now and $6000 at the beginning of the year), as well as travel and lodging expenses for Ukiah and his family for the treatments in Portland, as well as to offset any unexpected expenses. Because of the current and ongoing needs, donations are requested immediately and also on an ongoing basis.
The Carr Family graciously accepts and appreciates any form of donation to help them through this life-changing event. Your donation will enable Ukiah and his family to deal with all of the stresses of this diagnosis and treatment with less financial strain.
For anyone preferring to send a check by mail, please send it to:
2011 NE Shepard Rd
Bend OR 97701
UPDATE: Our goal has been raised to $30,000 to cover additional expected and unexpected including child care, travel, housing and other unknown expenses likely to come up. Thanks to everyone who has expressed support during this time as well as donated. We love you!
