<div>Hello, my name is Jamie, my partner is Emma, and we have two young sons. As a deaf family, our greatest joy has always been travelling across the UK and Europe together for family fishing trips. It’s our way of bonding, creating memories, and giving our children—especially our autistic son—calm, happiness, and stability.

<div>We were out attending a Christmas work event while our children stayed safely with their grandparents. When we returned home late, we went straight to bed—being profoundly deaf, we didn’t hear anything during the night.

<div>The next morning, I went downstairs to make a cup of tea. When I looked out into the garden, my heart dropped. Our shed door was wide open. I rushed outside, panicking—and what I saw made me feel sick.

<div>Every piece of our fishing equipment, including our children’s gear—stolen.
</div>
<div>Over £10,000 worth of equipment… our family’s passion… our children’s joy… all taken.

<div>We reported it to the police, but the emotional impact has been huge. Our sons are heartbroken and cannot understand why someone would steal something so important to them. Fishing is a vital part of their wellbeing, especially for our autistic son who finds peace and routine through it.

<div>This theft has taken away more than equipment—it has taken away our family’s special way of connecting and healing together.
