<div>Instead, Hurricane Melissa has left our communities flooded and our fields underwater. But our team is already doing what GOALS does best: showing up, rebuilding, and leading with heart.

<div><strong>The Impact of Hurricane Melissa</strong>

</div>
<div>For 15 years, GOALS Haiti has been a safe, steady space for hundreds of children. Through football, education, leadership, and community service, our youth have learned teamwork, confidence, and purpose. Many have literally grown up on these fields.
</div>

</div>
<div>Now, those same spaces, symbols of safety, joy, and hope, need repair.
</div>

</div>
<div>In Bossan, floodwaters filled homes for three days, forcing families to flee. Crops were lost, wells were contaminated, and our football field — the heart of our youth programs — was completely submerged. The community garden and tree nursery, where children learn to grow food and care for the environment, were also wiped out.

<div>In Destra, flooding damaged homes and disrupted daily life. Across both sites, families now face greater risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases.

<div><strong>How We’re Responding</strong>

<div>Our Haitian-led team didn’t wait for help to arrive. Even before the water began to recede, alumni coaches and staff were checking on families, clearing debris, and starting relief efforts. They continue to lead recovery by:

<div>✅ Delivering emergency food and hygiene kits including rice, beans, soap, sanitary items, and water purification tablets.
</div>
<div>✅ Cleaning and repairing homes, the football field, and community gardens.
</div>
<div>✅ Providing mental-health and emotional support to help kids process fear, loss, and disruption.
</div>
<div>✅ Teaching cholera prevention and hygiene education to protect families as disease risk rises.
