Ishmin Center es un proyecto que, con tu ayuda, abrirá sus puertas próximamente para compartir con el mundo el conocimiento ancestral shipibo y se convertirá en una reserva de fauna y naturaleza amazónicas.

Este nuevo proyecto del maestro y líder tradicional shipibo, Guillermo Arevalo, Kestenbetsa, está tomando forma en una zona de selva amazónica virgen de 27 hectáreas, que han sido adquiridas por el maestro para ser preservadas, tanto en su biodiversidad, como en las formas de vida tradicionales de las comunidades de esta zona de la Amazonía.

Recientemente finalizaron las obras del edificio central, también llamado Maloka. Esta edificación se usa tradicionalmente para las reuniones de la comunidad, para la toma de decisiones, para ritos espirituales, para escuchar a los abuelos y abuelas hablar o para realizar las celebraciones de las comunidades. En agosto de 2022 un huracán arrasó la zona donde se está construyendo el centro, llevándose con él toda la cúpula de la maloka y obligando a comenzar de cero con esta parte tan importante de la construcción.

Reconstruction of the maloka destroyed by hurricane

Ishmin Center is a project that, with your help, will soon open its doors to share ancestral Shipibo knowledge with the world and will become an Amazon wildlife and nature reserve.

This new project of the master and traditional Shipibo leader, Guillermo Arevalo, Kestenbetsa, is taking shape in a 27-hectare area of ​​virgin Amazon forest, which has been acquired by the master to be preserved, both in its biodiversity and in the ways of traditional life of the communities in this area of ​​the Amazon.

Work on the central building, also called Maloka, was recently completed. This building is traditionally used for community meetings, for decision-making, for spiritual rites, to listen to grandparents speak or to hold community celebrations. In August 2022, a hurricane devastated the area where the center is being built, taking with it the entire dome of the maloka and forcing this important part of the construction to start from scratch.
