<div>Cuando Fidel Castro entró a Cuba en el año de 1959, los niños y niñas, hijos de los 'enemigos de la patria' que mataron y/o metieron a la cárcel fueron mandados de refugiados a los Estados Unidos, y fue así como muchos cubanos acabaron allá.

<div>Esperanza fue una de esas niñas que tuvo que dejar su hogar y a su familia detrás en medio de la revolución Cubana.

<div>created with the stytle and innocence of a little girl drawing
</div>
<div>with pencils, crayons and photo clippings of family albums.

<div>We are looking for funding to post-produce this short film in

<div>this style, while improving these elements, and finishing the
</div>
<div>visual edit/animation, and musical scoring.

<div>Esperanza Iraida Rodriguez Lazaga de Noriega (éste es casi su nombre nobiliario después de años de formalidades migratorias) nació en La Habana, Cuba en 1950. Poco se

<div>imaginaba que su vida tomaría un giro inesperado para 1959.

<div>El documental "Mi nombre es Esperanza” cuenta la historia de

<div>la niña Esperanza, quien a los 12 años tuvo que dejar a su familia atrás en Cuba en medio de la revolución Cubana y a

<div>través de la operación “Peter Pan” llegó a los Estados Unidos y
</div>
<div>rebotó toda su adolescencia entre Miami, Virginia, y Nueva

<div>York, en donde años después se reunió con su tía Aleida. En

<div>1970 viajó a la ciudad de México donde decidió quedarse y hacer de este país su nuevo hogar.

<div>Esperanza Iraida Rodriguez Lazaga de Noriega (this is now her almost nobiliary name after years of migratory formalities) was born in La Habana, Cuba in 1950. Little could she know that her life would take a complete and unexpected turn by 1959. The documentary, “My Name is Esperanza”, tells the story of 12-year-old Esperanza who left her family behind in the midst of the Cuban Revolution through "Operation Peter Pan”. She bounced from Miami, to Virginia, to New York, where some years later she got together with her aunt Aleida. Later on, she traveled to México City where she decided to stay and make that nation her new home.
