Rebuilding of Banana Stand in Burlington, VT

Hi everyone, we’re Mark and Sarah. Our business, Banana Stand, is a clothing and footwear store in downtown Burlington, Vermont. It is with heavy heart that we are writing this. Unfortunately, our business recently fell victim to two devastating break ins on November 18 and November 19.

The burglars took a large amount of our inventory and there is considerable damage to our exterior door and windows. Due to this unfortunate situation, we need your help as we look ahead to rebuilding.

We are a small business, just two people to be exact. Everything our store has become stems from the creativity and brainpower of two people with a life-long dream. We love coming to work everyday and sharing our passion for clothing and footwear with our tight-knit and loving community. In the two short years we have had our brick or mortar store, the outpouring love and interest for what we do has been so inspiring. Better than we could have anticipated.

To see all of our hard work destroyed and taken away from us in a matter of minutes (not just once, but twice in a single weekend) has been very soul crushing. It is devastating.

Any amount that you can donate will go a long way in aiding our recovery efforts.

Despite what has happened to us, we believe in the kindness and power of community. From our footage, it looks to be the same individual from both incidents. We are working closely with the Burlington Police Department to help track this individual, and hopefully, lost inventory. We know how supportive our community is in helping businesses, like ours, weather these unforeseen hardships.
