<div>As the sounds of war echoed through the streets of Rafah, Wesam and I found ourselves in the midst of it all, seven long months of fear, uncertainty, and unimaginable loss. Our home, a sanctuary once filled with laughter and warmth, was reduced to rubble in the wake of relentless bombings. Every corner of our existence was touched by the harsh realities of war.

<div>But it wasn't just the physical destruction that shook our world. Wesam, at such a tender age, faced horrors that no child should ever endure. The scarcity of food left her tiny frame battling malnutrition, while contaminated water brought the threat of dehydration knocking at our door. Even the simple act of eating became a perilous task, with polluted food posing a constant danger to her fragile health. Gastrointestinal problems haunted her, a cruel reminder of the harsh conditions we were forced to endure.

<div>Amidst the chaos, I held on to Wesam with all the strength I could muster. She became my reason to keep fighting, my beacon of hope in the darkest of nights. But the toll of war was unforgiving, stripping us of everything we held dear. Our home, our belongings, the familiar faces of Wesam's kindergarten colleagues, all lost in the merciless tide of conflict.

A home that stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
